Creator Terms
Last updated October 5, 2026
These terms are between you and Elison Inc., which operates ShortHouse. They apply when you pitch a series to ShortHouse and, if accepted, when your series is offered on ShortHouse. Version 2026-10-05.
Ownership. You keep all ownership of your series, characters and story. Nothing in these terms transfers your copyright to ShortHouse.
Your promises. You confirm that you own or have licensed every part of your series (footage, music, voices, likenesses, and any AI-generated material, including compliance with the AI tool's commercial-use terms), that it doesn't infringe anyone's rights, and that everyone who appears in it agreed to be in it. You're responsible if that isn't true.
Pitches. Submitting a pitch doesn't oblige either of us to anything. Your pilot is kept private and is only watched by the ShortHouse team to evaluate your pitch. If we decline, we delete the private copy on request.
License if accepted. When we accept your series, you grant ShortHouse an exclusive license to stream it on vertical-drama and short-series services for 12 months from the first episode's release, then a non-exclusive license for as long as it's on ShortHouse. You can post trailers and clips (up to 60 seconds each) anywhere at any time. You also let us use your series' title, artwork, clips and your creator name to promote ShortHouse and your series.
Revenue share. You earn 50% of the net revenue your series generates: (a) 50% of the cash value of points spent unlocking your episodes, and (b) 50% of your series' share of VIP subscription revenue, split across all series by VIP watch time. Net means after payment-processing fees, refunds, chargebacks and taxes we collect. Points given away for free (like daily check-in bonuses) have no cash value.
Payouts. We pay monthly, for the previous month, once your balance is at least $50 (smaller balances roll over). You'll see your estimated earnings in your Studio. You're responsible for your own taxes, and we may need tax information (such as a W-9 or W-8BEN) before paying.
Review and pricing. ShortHouse reviews every episode before it goes live and decides pricing, which episodes are free, release timing and placement. We may decline or remove episodes that break our content rules or the law.
Ending. Either side can end the arrangement with 30 days' notice after the 12-month exclusive period. We'll take the series down within 30 days of the end date and pay any balance owed.
